International Blends Explained: Curry, Peruvian & Moroccan BBQ Seasonings
Most "world spice" seasonings borrow a country's name without borrowing its flavour — a generic hot blend gets a passport stamp slapped on the label and called "Cajun" or "Moroccan." Our International Blends range is built the other way round: we start with the real spice or chilli behind a cuisine, and build the blend around it.
Here's what's actually in the range, and what each one is for.
What is a curry BBQ rub?
A curry BBQ rub takes the warm, layered spicing of Indian cooking — cumin, coriander, turmeric, warming chilli — and applies it to grilled and roasted meat rather than a sauce-based dish. It works because those spices are built to bloom in heat and fat, which is exactly what happens on a grill. Our Bombay Blaze blend is our take on this: an Indian-spiced BBQ dust with real curry warmth and a chilli kick, sold in both mild and hot strengths. It's particularly good on chicken thighs, lamb, and roasted vegetables — anywhere you'd want a curry-adjacent flavour without making an actual curry.
What is Peruvian chilli seasoning?
Peruvian cooking leans on bright, fruity chilli varieties — think aji amarillo and Aleppo-style peppers — rather than pure heat. The flavour is citrusy and punchy rather than smoky or sweet, which makes it a good match for anything that needs lifting rather than just spicing. Lima Loco, our Peruvian-inspired blend, is built on Aleppo chilli for exactly that zesty, food-that-wants-a-kick character — good on grilled fish, chicken, and roast veg where a smoky rub would be too heavy.
What is Moroccan spice seasoning?
Moroccan spicing typically combines warm ground spices — cumin, coriander, cinnamon — with real chilli heat rather than treating heat as the headline. Desert Glow is our Moroccan-leaning blend, built on cumin, coriander, and real green jalapeño rather than a generic "exotic" seasoning mix. It suits lamb, roasted carrots and squash, and flatbreads particularly well.
New blends drop weekly
International Blends is an ongoing series — we're releasing a new cuisine-inspired flavour roughly once a week through the summer, so the range keeps growing. If you've already tried Desert Glow or Lima Loco, keep an eye on the International Blends collection for what's dropped since.
How they're different from our Streetbox range
Our core Streetbox seasonings (Bombay Blaze, Emerald Ember, Smoky Inferno) are built as everyday BBQ dusts — reliable, repeatable flavours you'll reach for weekly. International Blends is where we go narrower and more specific: one cuisine, one chilli, one clear idea, in smaller runs. If you already know what you like from the Streetbox range, International Blends is the next place to look for something you haven't tried yet.
